Food Empire @ Toppen Shopping Mall

Spread over 15,000 sq ft of floor space in Toppen Shopping Centre, Johor Bahru, Food Empire is a food court that satisfies the stomach and soothes the soul. To mitigate the expanse and evoke a sense of wonderment, the designers chose a garden concept with dreamy details.

A suspended clock was placed at the heart of the food court and acts as a central point from which tables fan out from. Life like shrubs seem to “grow” from the timber veneer clad tables, these catch the light and cast pretty shadows so that walking through the circuit feels like a stroll in a park. All food stall frontages were arranged so that they would enjoy maximum visual exposure from every angle.
